I had the opportunity to collaborate closely with Tungsten Originals, an independent film production company founded and led by West Givens. The goal was to conceptualize an immersive intro animation that would be displayed at the beginning of their films.
The final concept aimed to convey the idea that Tungsten Originals represents a new wave of independent filmmakers who bring a fresh perspective to the industry, while upholding the fundamental elements of quality film.

After a three-month period of concepting and exploring different styles, the final design was achieved. Despite the original timeline being only 2-3 weeks, the process was not a grueling one with endless client notes and tedious adjustments. In fact, it offered an exciting opportunity to experiment with various techniques and mediums. While the initial proposal involved in-camera shooting, the final sequence was achieved by incorporating practical assets into the 3D animation.

Tungsten Originals' logo integrates light and refractions as a symbolic reference to their name and origin, drawing inspiration from the tungsten filament in a lightbulb. To convey the concept of "hand-crafted cinema," I aimed to shoot practically, spending a good amount of time searching for objects and materials to shoot light, projections, and even lasers through. This approach resulted in a mesmerizing display of abstract rays and colors with hints of recognizable imagery, as if the viewer is peering through the camera lens itself.
P.S. Don't point a laser inside of a lens unless you're truly dedicated to the craft.
