This piece explores the emotional experience of nostalgia, a longing for a time and place that no longer exists. The project itself depicts the process of experiencing nostalgia as a chain of emotional reactions, each one triggered by a solitary stimulus. As the memory is altered and reshaped, the initial recollection is mutated into an idealized version of the past, before ultimately fading into a lingering sense of yearning and melancholy. By capturing the essence of nostalgia in my work, I aim to create an opportunity for reflection and introspection on the nature of human emotions and memory.

By visualizing this process, this piece seeks to shed light on the nature of memory and the role it plays in shaping our emotions and perceptions. Ultimately, my project is a visual representation of the complexities of human emotion and memory, and an invitation to the viewer to engage with the past in a way that is both reflective and introspective.
