Although I enjoy analog circuit bending, I wanted to explore digital glitch art techniques using code-editing programs like Hex Fiend. Through a lot of experimentation with different file types and editing methods, I was able to produce numerous variations at varying levels of corruption.
One thing I quickly realized is that digital glitch art is more fragile than analog. Unlike analog glitches, where a messier approach can often lead to stunning results, digital glitching requires much more patience and meticulousness. It's essentially a balance between creating something visually striking and corrupting a file beyond the point of recovery.
